200 volts at 20 mA is 4 watts per section, or 8 watts per tube. According to the RCA tube manual, the maximum plate dissipation for both sides running is 7.5 watts, so your design is running the tubes at OVER maximum design parameters. Good engineering practice suggests that you should keep your design well under maximum ratings - this is why some modern tube designs have a poor reputation for reliability.

You may enjoy burning up tubes but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Assuming the roll-off you observed at lower currents was due to the current being too low, I would suggest that you try running at a lower voltage, say 150 volts, and see if you can achieve the same sound with significantly better reliability. If you can't achieve the sound you want along with reliability then it's better to try another tube IMHO. Otherwise you're doing the equivalent of trying to stuff 150 lbs of potatoes into a 100 lb bag.
