This seems like a naive question even to me. If one has a power transformer with several sets of output secondaries, normally used to provide a choice of output voltages, can one parallel the secondaries in order to reduce the DCR? (On the surface, this would seem to me to be a bad thing to do, but I never tried it nor am I certain how such a transformer is constructed internally, although I imagine that there are separate windings that are electrically isolated from one another.) If one CAN do that in order to lower DCR, then how do you treat the primary side of the transformer? (Obviously, doing this will have some averaging effect on the actual AC voltage available at the output, but that is a secondary question, as it were.) This is all drlowmu's fault.
