Re: Why?

I have observed that when one's preferred resistor is not available in a high enough power rating, then one is better off paralleling several of them to make a "composite" resistor with a high power rating, as compared to using a single hi-power resistor of "inferior" quality. But I never thought about the possible advantages of paralleling resistors per se. It's an interesting idea.
