I'm not using hum pots on my 6B4G ST-70, and my understanding is that they are undesirable, as are cathode caps. The hum is cancelled out by the matched tubes operating in opposite polarity. The caps are not needed because the real reason for them is to counteract the varying current draw that a single tube has . In PP one tube is increasing current while the other is decreasing so current through the PS is constant.
