I belive the "correct" way is as follows - at least it works for me.You should have a seperate filament transformer for each 6B4, and seperate cathode bias resistors/caps for each tube. On one tube, either connect the bias resistor/cap to the filament transformer's center tap (it it has one), or create a fake ct by connecting two 22 ohms in series across the filament and connect the center to the bias resistor/cap. On the other 6B4, connect the pot across the filament leads and connect the wiper of the pot to another bias resistor/cap. If you use a common bias resistor/cap for both tubes (not a good idea), you can't use this connection and will have to purchase matched tubes (as Tre' mentioned).
I'm using fixed bias, which simplifies things a bit.
