Toriods are very wideband, and so they very effectively couple high frequency noise, from their primary and secondary wiring positions, into the B+ supply. I have seen measurements and there are better choices for low noise, naturally obtained in the parts choice. I would prefer to pick a part that avoids a problem, rather than resorting to added parts in circuit to clean it up. Toroids are the worst at this in PT service.The better choice might be a dual bobbin conventional power trannie, but an expert like Dave Slagle, or others, can explain this far better than technically - challenged Jeff !!
