The title of your post implied that this was some kind of breakthrough. I don't think that's what you meant, since people have been doing it forever.A B-77 would be very nice. But let me plant another thought in your head: Copy everything to computer hard drive. Then use the computer as your music source. No changing tapes, no FF-ing or RW-ing, no demagging, no head cleaning. Nearly instant access to any album, instant replay, FF-ing to a certain spot is just a matter of moving a scroll button. Oh, and no tape hiss. I don't even use my A-77 anymore, except to transfer tapes to hard drive.
Of course, you'd have to invest in a computer with a good sound card and find a place for it in your stereo setup.
Still, I long for a Studer A800, just for fun. ;)
