Hate to say it but Naks are nothing but trouble.

I know some are not going to like that statement but i had/have (In a closet now)the same CR-3A and i had nothing but problems with it to the point i just threw it in a closet and gave up on it.Back in around 1985 when i was in the Air Force i had a Dragon, again nothing but problem's.Don't get me wrong Nak's sound better that pretty much everything else out there when there running right and adjusted properly but keeping them running right was just to much.I have friends that have had Naks and they say the same thing.Naks are just to finniky a beast for me.In compaison i have (Now don't laugh) a 1989-90 JVC TD-V621 3 Head 3 Motor Closed loop Dual Capstan deck that i have owned since new that has never givin me one day of problem. It still has the original belts and pinch rollers and has never needed a head adjustment and has never even once eaten a tape, and sounds as good today as the day i pulled it out of the box.Granted it does'nt sound quite as good as a properly adjusted Nak but i have enjoyed it alot more, and at least i can use it instead of constantly running it back and forth to the repair shop (At $100 bucks a pop).Peace,Jon.
