Hello tape fans, I have a Nakamichi CR-3A problem. When I play or record a tape, the machine stops when the tape gets about 3/4 through. This happens about 90 percent of the time. Sometimes the tape will play through to the end of the side, but most of the time, it stops before it gets to the end. If I re-start the machine, I see the hubs move for about 3 seconds and then the right hub stops, then about 2 seconds later the machine switches off. I took off the black plate that is behind where the tape goes off to confirm that the machine doesn't have the rubber idler. It indeed has the gears, so I know a rubber tire can't be the problem. The machine does rewind and fast-foward flawlessly. Any ideas?
