The DV-RA1000 is far far ahead of the Masterlink for high-def recording. The CD24 format is just too space restrictive. 19 minutes??? Forget it. The DV-RA1000 writes to DVD+RW which means you can do editing, etc. I miss the hard drive of the Masterlink but not too terribly much and also think the RA1000 sounds better. If you intend to use the same or an identical machine to play back, you also have the option of DSD which NO other machine does at this price point.
