Re: Converting XLR Tape decks to RCA connectors

You can easily find cheap adapters and cables that have a different
type of connector at each end. However, these do not address the
significant differences in amplitude and impedence between balanced
and unbalanced signals. To get a real professional quality connection
with a low noise floor, you need a device called a line level
converter.

I've tried out several different line level converters and I'm
thoroughly convinced that the absolute best is made by Radio Design
Labs (RDL). I can hear an audible difference between it and the others
that's difficult to describe. The music seems to have more low-level
detail and presence.
