Hi all,
Thrilled to stumble upon this board!A quick question, I recently bought a Nakamichi 550, basically part of an estate sale and virtually unused. It's a wonderful machine and for the most part works flawlessly, with the exception of the rewind function. When I press rewind, 1 out of 10 times it works, other times it rewinds for a few moments and then stops. The motor is running fine and ff/play/rec work perfectly.
Is this a matter of needing a bit of oil or is there some part I need to replace? A bit afraid to open the thing up too.
