Rec Out connected all the time? Yes or No

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

I've heard all the stories about leaving your record out connected all the time, sound degradation and all. I would like the opinions of the inmates on this matter. BTW I still use regularly 2 NAK 600 II's and a NAK DR-8 I have almost a thousand cassettes and I'm not giving up on the format. Thanks.
