thanks Larry,
I am learning for the various responses, thanks!
Perhaps I need to reassess my wants/needs regarding the amp.
Currently I'm using a MP 301MK3. It is a single end pentode amp ( I think) that uses 6SJ7 & KT77 tubes, puts out 6.5 watts per channel. The power with my current speakers is plenty good, I am surprised how powerful it is - never turned up past 11 or 12 on the dial. And the quality of the sound and large stage is great IMO.
I am not married to the idea of a SET amp. I am open to other designs. PP may be what I should try??
Regardless, whatever I finally chose, it must have a remote, headphone jack, a few inputs for CD, phono (I have a phono stage preamp. MP 2P, so a built in phono stage is optional), and other possible source. Don't have a DAC. But digital, when used, is over my AVR amp and it sounds fine when playing 2 channel music.
My power needs are not huge, 6.5 watts is enough for now - just thinking that in the future I may want to try less sensitive speakers and more power would then be important.
While cost is a consideration, the budget is flexible, for sake of discussion, under 3K is a starting point.
Thanks again, I'll look at the Synthesis - maybe it will work for me.
