A 92 dB efficient woofer in a roughly 1 cubic foot box (vented in this case) isn't going to go very deep. The 44 Hz specification is probably the -6 dB point unless the speaker gets significant boundary reinforcement. Without boundary reinforcement, -3 dB is probably in the mid-50's.I suggest you move the speakers up against a wall or even near a corner. If that's not feasible, then try moving your listening position back against the wall. Also, if the room has doors, close them when listening. If the bass is still missing, consider either adding two small subs (which in my opinion is better than one big one - I can explain why if you want), or changing speakers.
