Rather than speculating, & backing off, why not try an interim
treatment - DIY deep-freezing it. It won't cost you nothing, except a
few days & some patience.I had my DIY ICs (fine silver of 4n purity, in loose-tubed FEP Teflon
insulation, 100% mylar tape shield, PVC overall jacket, terminated with RCA plugs, which got screw terminal & non-magnetic outer shell,
air sealed with silver solder), deep-frozen down to minus 30C in my freezer down my basement.It involved pre-freeze (at 0C one day), deep-freeze (at 30C two days,
post-freeze (at 0C one day,) warm-up VERY VERY slowly to room temperature for two days. The cables are air-sealed in zip polybag
to prevent condensaton during the entire treatment. The cables must
be in stationary postion during the entire deep-freeze (-30C) process
to prevent damaging the plastic compound which built up the jacket.It works! It enhances the overall performance of the sivler ICs.
Please search my posting of the same subject.Surely, it is not a cryo treatment (minus 300F). But it costs you
nothing & will better your ICs sonically. What the heck!Good listening
