Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

Sticking Point on #3

Soundmind method list:
1. Measure the limits of the perception of human hearing.
2. Measure all of the electrical parameters you can find to characterize the electrical behavior of wire
3. Correlate variations in those parameters with audibly perceived variations in performance
4. Specify wires whose variations from an ideal wire would fall within the limits of what is perceptible.

The big problem is, we aren't past #3 yet. Not for cables, not for amps, not for CDP's, etc.

The raw data in #1 CAN NOT be applied willy nilly to #2, to get to #3.

If someone, anyone, were to say that we were already done with #3, I would have to ask for citations, references, all the backup and evidence to support this position, as this would be a very real and substantial claim on the part of anyone making such a statement.

The burden of proof would be on the claimant, as it is not considered to be widely acknowledged that such is the case.

[ The moderator seems to use his power to threaten and punish those who disagree with his view in this war as evidenced by my inadvertent faux pas post laughing at the notion that electrical receptacles had a sound of their own and then getting a warning from him. I didn’t see any comparable warning for your calling me an idiot. ]

First, I do not moderate this forum. Given the 34 main forums, it would not be possible for any one operson to cover them all, or even a small tea of moderators, thus, AA is broken into individual moderation (or teams) for almost each forum.

Second, traditionally, Prop Heads is usually allowed some amount of latitude by the site owner, on all sides. Technical discussions can get quite rowdy.

Third, you appeared to be, and still do, to be completely serious in your comments about outlets, which is why the warning was issued.
