Articulation index is a crude 1950’s weighted-band spectral S/N model used to tune hearing aid performance for noisy conditions. It requires a specific listener’s (with a hearing loss) spectral measurement fed to the model and the result can be used to predict the listener’s ability to hear speech in noisy conditions. This has NOTHING to do with Brisson’s claimed articulation "response" invention.
