S...O...B....sunnnava gunnn...
I didn't mention that possibility as I hadn't figured you for a powered subwoofer type.. I figured you were a two big speaker kinda guy..
When I lived in my condo, there would be that exact same noise everytime the forced hot air system turned on. I too had thought it some kind of mechanical entity moving in response to the air stream. But since it happened instantly with the blower motor, I eventually realized it was the sub...and confirmed it.
It is happening because your sub is plugged in, your amp is plugged in, and you have an IC between the two, forming a loop.
This may be a result of the AC wiring problem I first suspected, it could be because the neutral is broken but the water pipe ground is good..I still recommend the electrician.
BTW, where I live, the house will still work even if the neutral feed to the breaker panel is disconnected, because the water pipe ground is connected to the same buss as the neutral feed. In my panel, all the bare copper wires are screwed into the same bar as the white neutral wires.
Also, those 3 bulb outlet checkers will not see the problem.
Also, ask your neighbors if they have the same kinda weird problems. Here, we have 6 to 10 houses all sharing the same pole transformer, and if the problem is up the pole, your neighbors would be in the same boat as you.
Cheers, John
