Personally I find the notion that the designer of a cable seemingly has so little confidence in the performance of said cable as to be incapable of ruling out the possibility that its perceived performance may be due to non-audible parameters to be highly interesting, and also repugnant.I can't rule it out because I don't know the answer. Nor do any of those out there who try and lead people into believing that they do. They may have convinced themselves that they know the answer through sheer force of ego, vanity, and denial, but they don't truly know the answer.
For example, suppose I wrote to George Cardas telling him how much I liked the performance of one of his products and solicited his opinion as to how the design yielded this or that characteristic. I have to admit I be rather shocked and more than a little pissed off if he responded ... "Don't ask me man, perhaps you just react that way to thick cables".What can I say? Obviously you need to have smoke blown up your ass. And there are plenty out there who are more than happy to fill that need for you.
I'm comfortable admitting I don't know the answers and you find that repugnant. Yet if I had simply made up a bunch of shit that sounded good and spoon fed it to you, you wouldn't know any different and would walk away with a big brown smile on your face.
You're a marketer's wet dream.
