Adeptec 4.0 is very solid.
I also (for the demo) enjoyed Dart Pro CD burning software.
I downloaded it, and got 13 day's of use. It has a kick ass noise reduction for cassette tape archiving, in it's producer function.
I am going to pay 50 bucks, just for the de hisser.
Dart pro, is noted for nice de click software for archiving vinyl as well. I have the DART pro, for vinyl, but the burning program , I need to purchase.
Wish I could figure out how to download it again, to check a few more features, before I buy it. It seems to know, or hid a file somewhere, that it has been previously installed....any clues??
I like the adaptec 4.0 alot. Even converts MP3's to music , for CD.

I hope they are MAC compatable.
Also, I bet the contacts were making the difference in the card.
I am an avid fan of contact enhancer.
