Yes, it can give it more potential headroom, but at a cost. A hifi amp, because it doesn't need to generate the same amount of power, needs less output devices, doesn't need to drive those output devices as much, and needs less powersupply, all things that add to cost. Cooling also becomes more of an issue the more power you try to develope. I would expect you to get more for your money from a well made well designed hifi amp, but I would try to steer away from the trendy makes, and go for a good well designed amp from a reputable maker. Brystons are very good amps, I would expect the Amcrons to outperform the QXC's. Go have a listen to some domestic amps first, I suspect that you will find something amongst them that will more than satisfy.Regards
