Just give the manager the math. 80 mics and cables at $100 per singer, is $8000. The boards and the rest will be at least another $10-15k. Not a cheap or easy solution. Just the thought of that sound check scares me. Check out a recent Mix magazine (Trent Reznor on the cover) with a big section on Bjork's live show. She has a choir with her on tour and they explain pretty well how they do the mic'ing of the show.
