Sorry to intrude, but I just wanted to ask any experienced audio professionals who have worked with the Altec Voice of the Theatre speakers (ie. the ever popular A7's) how they really compare with the sound quality of comparable modern pro speakers. Of course, the traditional VOT design cannot handle modern power levels, and one must find a modern speaker design that was intended for the uses that the A7 was subjected to (other than cinema use) I have heard some people say that it would be hard to find a comparable pro speaker today that has the same sound quality, and others that say that new speakers are superior in every way.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated, especially from those who have been in pro audio long enough to have experienced a wide variety of speaker designs.Thanks, Doug Eisemann
