Both very good products. I like protools more than DP so I went with the digi 001. Also, many professionals like the sound of the protools mixbus more than DP. As for funtionality- both are very good units. firewire is really cool for this type of work and certianly does not limit bandwidth at all (capable of 400Mb/s)
