We're using the Oktava capsule mics as drum overheads and a 219 for vocals, guitar, etc. They're great mics. Guitar Center is selling the 219 for $99! That's not much more than an SM58 and they're much better (though completely different). We also have two Rode NT1s (about $199, I think), and they're also very good. The Oktava has a warmer sound than the Rode, so you may prefer one over the other...depending on your voice. Every mic has it's strong point...it depends on how you use them. I'm sure any of the mics mentioned in these posts will make you happy.
