I'll try to give you the perspective of the amatuer computer based solution. Bring your CD tracks into an audio editor like Bias PEAK (Mac) or SoundForge (Windows). You do this by converting them to .wav or .aif files. I think, like the others say, that you need to try compression to fatten it up a bit. Also, you can add EQ where it's needed.There are a lot of plug ins out there that provide good audio editing features. WAVES Gold has the L1 Compressor/Maximizer and also 4 and 6 band parametric EQ's to help your sound.
BUT, it all depends on your ear and experiance working with these tools. I've been involved with recording for about 15 years, so I trust my ears when I use said mentioned tools.
If you have very little experience in doing this, you're better off sending it to a professional. But it's worth a shot if you have the software available.
