My church is building a new bldg. We have chosen a pre-engineered metal bldg to keep costs down. The main assembly area is ~ 6500 sq ft which will seat about 650 people. One of the big concerns is acoustics and rain noise transmitted through the metal roof system. I'm looking for lead on how to optimize acoustics and how to reduce rain noise assuming we don't want to install a drop ceiling. Eave height is 16 ft rising up to about 30 feet at the peak. Are there special materials, treatments in addition to the normal batt insulation that would address this problem.
TIA,
Jim D.
