Thank you both, RBP and Nemo, for your advice. I've been trying to persuade myself not to do the computer thing (mainly because mine runs on a Cyrix MII 300 chip), but 24/96 recording sounds very enticing (not to mention the fact that one day 16 bits will be obsolete), and your thoughts will force me to reconsider the stand a lone solution. Have you guys heard much about the Lexicon Core2 card? I know its only 24/48, but it sounds very interesting to me, especially with the effects board added on. Also, I see so many units where the 'system requirements' mention a pentium processor (not "pentium class"), and I wonder what dire consequences would befall one who used another CPU.
Does anyone know the answer to this?
