I agree 100% with RBP: get a computer-based burner.
Plextor drives are the best. Now you have the choice between the Ultra SCSI or EIDE PlexWriters at 12X (CD-R, 10X (CD-R/W) and 32X (CD-ROM). See them at www.plextor.com.
A nice sound card to get is the LynxOne with digital I/O supporting AES/EBU and S/P DIF formats at sample rates up to 96kHz. (A/D up to 48kHz though, more with the incoming model). See www.lynxone.com.
