Dynaudio Audience 52 speakers as near field monitors

Hello, I'm currently trying to make stategic upgrades to my mini home studio. Currently I have a set of Dynaudio Audience 52 speakers being underutilized next to my television. I'd also like to upgrade my current home studio near field monitor situation (currently a Kenwood mini-system).
Do you guys think these speakers would make good near fields? It's hard for me to analyze the current sitaution since the speaker's dont make a huge difference with my current Kenwood amplifier. (which doesn't sound that great). What amplifiers would you recommend for this type of application? I've read great things about the Dynaudio BM6 speakers, and the specs between those and my Audience 52's look very similar.
Any suggestions?
