RE: Anyone running EverSolo DMP-A6/A6 Master or EverSolo DMP-A8 ?

Hello Abe,

I have had the Eversolo DMP A-8 for almost two months now, using it as a streamer + dac with fixed output via pure silver XLR cables to my Lyngdorf TDAI-2200 digital amplifier. The Eversolo replaces a Cambridge Azur 851N streamer dac.

The Eversolo app works flawlessy streaming internet radio + Qobuz + Flac and DSD files up to DSD512 from an external 8TB Seagate HDD. I listen mostly to classical music.

I wanted the A-8 and not the A-6 because I don't like the sound of ESS Sabre Dacs and I did not want a switch mode power supply.

Sound wise the Eversolo A-8 has a wider and deeper soundstage than the Cambridge 851N with better separation between instruments. I had already compared the Cambridge Dac to the RME ADI FS-2 dac, which measures better than the Cambridge but the Cambridge was clearly more musical than the RME. However the A-8 AKM dac is in another league than these two dacs.

Thefirst 25 hours the A-8 was indeed bright sounding but now aound the 500 hours mark that brightness has completely gone. It is very balanced sounding now.

I replaced the generic power cord with a Furutech FP-TCS31 cord and lastly with a Furutech FP-S55N cord fitted with ETI Legato Gold plugs.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Lars
