With the Chaintech card I was unable to get bit perfect output. I didn't do the firmware flash though.On the same computer, I have gotten bit perfect output with Terretec 2496, M-Audio Audiophile 2496, & Emu 0404. I'm currently using the EMU & it seems to be the best sounding.
An Interesting thing about the Terretec was that I was able to get bit perfect output with Windows MP10, Itunes (6.0 I think) I havn't figured out how to achieve that with the EMU on updated versions of these media players. Doesn't matter though, cause I use Foobar anyways.
BTW Bit perfect output is/was confirmed with HDCD material played back on an HDCD DAC.
