The OTL i have sounds great with 6SN7 VT-231 as outputs and a 6414 or 5965 as the input. 6BL7GTA outputs at high power also sound very good with 6SN7 VT-231 input, and the 5751 drives two 5687s as outputs really well. These are the 3 combinations I am happiest with, thus far, in my OTL head/preamp.

Thus, my interest in VT-231s.
