Re: Deleting posts

Sorry for not jumping in earlier on this topic. I was not aware that the "Noisy MP-3" issue had come up again. I cannot comment on the deleted postings as it seems I have missed reading them before they were deleted. I would like everyone know that the MP-3 in question is alive and well (always has been). It has never had a noise issue since coming into my possesion (I purchased it from Jerry S. in early 2003). I brought it up to Ralph to have the phono section checked out since this unit had a little bit of a "past" associated to it. I was still in the process of putting together my dream front end and could not evaluate the phono section myself. As Ralph stated, the preamp was dead quiet upon hooking it up to his system. I experienced the same silence in my system after properly configuring the Jensen transformers for a 1:12 step up and installing the correct resistance/capacitance components to match the Shelter 501 II I was running with my tonearm. I have had it up there a couple of times since it's purchase (tube problem and a faulty volume pot) and each time I leave with the most satisfying sense of ownership imagineable. Even though I was the second owner of this piece of equipment, Ralph has refused to let me pay for anything that was in need of service. I hold both Ralph and Atma-Sphere in the ABSOLUTE HIGHEST REGARD immagineable. He is the epitomy of a scolar and a gentleman. I also own a pair of M60's (stainless chassis built from kit) that he has upgraded and again, I walk away each time feeling as though I have just spent some quality time with an old friend. I have asked numerous questions of him and his staff over the years and each time have come away with a greater knowledge of his products and a greater appreciation of who is behind them. I would challenge anyone to find a more knowledgeable and respectfull person in this (or any) industry than Ralph Karsten and if anyone ever wants to here a truely world class preamp/amp set up and is in the Minnesota area, please feel free to stop by my house any time.
