I have some experience with the S-30, being an Atma-Sphere dealer and having designed speakers that shared a room with the S-30 at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest a couple of months ago. I have no experience with the T-16, but note its lower output impedance and presume global negative feedback is used to achieve it.In my opinion, which amp will work best for you depends on your speakers. If they have a fairly smooth impedance curve which stays above 7 ohms, the S-30 will work and (in my opinion) its very low global negative feedback topology offers sonic advantages. (In a few cases a bumpy impedance curve is still okay - but only if the frequency response curve dips where the impedance curve peaks).
On the other hand, if your speakers have a bumpy impedance curve and/or dip below 7 ohms, chances are the T-16 is the better choice.
What speakers do you have, and what can you tell us about their impedance curve?
