The common Russian-made 6AS7G variant is a 6N13S - which looks like 6H13C in cyrillic text. These tubes were produced variously at the Svetlana (St. Petersburg), Reflector (Saratov)and Ulyanov plants. These can all be good tubes, but as it turns out, the best-quality tubes which we most commonly find are the Svetlanas. There is also a Chinese 6AS7G variant, labeled 6N5P, with either a -J, -T or -Q suffix. For the most part, the internal elements of these tubes are clearly built from copies of the Russian tooling, but they use different styles of heater, getter, envelope and base. Lore has it that the suffix denotes the level of mil-spec ruggedness, with J being the lowest and Q the highest. Atma-Sphere has been using and shipping these tubes for several months now, and thusfar, these tubes are remarkably reliable - and sound is equal to the Svetlanas.
Hope this helps, Bill
