As you may recall, I totally rebuilt the power supply section of my MP1 (because it was quite ancient when I bought the unit second-hand) and at that time I did install a pair of VSEI super-regulators. After listening to that set-up for about a year at the +/-225V output that was then recommended, I cranked the Super-Regs up to +/-250V. This had a very positive effect on everything, as I reported to you at the time. Right now it sits at +/-250V. I would hesitate to attempt to draw much more voltage and current from the stock PS transformer, but if I built a dedicated supply for the phono section, I could run it at +/-300V or so and keep the linestage as is, at +/-250V. Plus I could draw more current for phono from the dedicated supply, allowing me to use higher Gm tubes in the phono input stage, resulting in possible audio Nirvana (for at least several months thereafter until I get another itch).
