Michael,I don't think I have any other guys running two pairs of ZEROs besides you. I actually stopped running two pairs of ZEROs myself earlier this year when I started voicing out new lead out wire options. I found a strong favorite (Red enamel coated, solid core 12 gauge, Continuously Cast Copper winding wire), that are now on the current ZERO-Autoformers, and I haven't gotten around to putting a second set of ZEROs back in the system. I will have to get two pairs going again after my system settles down again.
You will remember my listening room was in our living room. We recently moved the piano up there, and I moved the stereo to a larger room down stairs. That sure solved my 50Hz room resonance issue, and I'm getting closer to finding a speaker and chair placement in this new room that works.
The "Original" ZEROs showed the GRAY and BROWN leads fixed as the amplifier leads and settings were selected at the speaker end. After your's, Luis's, and my own findings on the "alternate 2X configuration", I decided to make that the norm. That is when I came out with the DIY-ZEROs that fixed the BLACK and WHITE leads as the speaker leads and settings were selected at the amplifier end. This also worked out so that the DIY-ZEROs could have two two WHITE and BLACK leads for bi-wiring.
The DIY-ZEROs are done, and since the "new" ZERO-Autoformers have 18 inch leads for all leads, and bi-wiring is gone again, I should encourage people to try both 2x options, because they can sound different.
I'm actually more excited about the new solid core 12 gauge copper lead out wires on the "new" ZERO-Autoformers than anything. I have a $100 trade up option for anyone interested. You can see them at the below link.
I hope this helps answer your questions.
Thanks!
