Thank you.
Your response was very kind and gracious.I apologize that I couldn't answer more quickly, it is Easter weekend, and work has been rather demanding; not easy to get back to my leisurely pleasures.
I hope things go well with your pursuit of the joys of music, and all that that brings to our lives. Its funny, I really do enjoy music; sound can be extremely pleasureable. Yet, and I don't want to get too sentimental on you now, I remember a peculiar scene in the movie remake of "Miracle on 34th St." which has Richard Atinburough playing Santa Clause, and the kids are coming to the store to tell him what they want for toys. However, there is this one little girl, who is deaf, and the mother says something to the effect of "its OK, she just wants to be able to sit on your lap, and be next to you for a moment". But, to the mother's surprise, Richard Atinburough speaks to her little girl in sign language, and the face of the little girl lights up like the sun! I have always thought it an odd thought, and a sad one, that the music we enjoy, many others cannot.Along the lines of your first response, about listening more rather than measuring, the above illustration helps me to put that into better perspective. The deaf little girl isn't asking for distortion measurements, she would simply be thrilled if she could hear at all. And since she can't, I can at least share the joy that music brings me in my time with her in other ways, my time with her is my "sign language" of music to her. I often take for granted, in the pursuit of musical perfection, that life is NEVER perfect, and should therefore be enjoyed as it can be, before its too late.
So on this Easter weekend note from me, thank you for your advice, and good listen'n to yah!
Take care,
David
