I've finished building the first of my M-60s and, to my amazement, it more or less works (it's my first ever kit). All the tests in the manual check out OK, pin voltages are as they should be, it even plays music. But there's a substantial hum through the speaker. Sounds like 60hz. Can't see anything wrong except maybe the output filter cap voltages. C1 and C2 don't look right. Maybe someone could look at the readings and tell me if they look wrong?
Positive Negative
C1 +16.9 VDC +17.8
C2 +16.9 +17.8
C3 +137.8 -17.8
C4 +138.1 -17.8
I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks,
George
