High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

So I went with the 167e's and no sooner were they
in the house I started ripping that(bloody heavy!) sheet of mdf
apart.
Lesson 1:
Never start a project at 10.30pm
After a few "how the f... did I do that??"
I decided to wait till I had time to do it right.
Lesson 2:
There is no time like the present...
I have been redoing a bathroom in the house for about 16 months now
so its obviously a perfect time to start building speakers!

Boxes go together pretty well using pocket hole screws aqnd liberal amounts of glue(well, you can always sand!)
Caulked all corners, built port out of mdf scraps, rounded over port front and back, rounded over driver hole, rounded over front baffle....
Ya I get a little carried away but it looks good!
Got the wife involved and we ordered a sheet of mahogany veneer....
Clamped baffle on, hooked up to discman and t-amp and was completly blown away!
Mid range was so clear and precise, top nice and crisp and while the bass won't knock walls down its definitly there and oh so tunefull!
this is still in the garage and it sounds freekin good!
Bolt drivers in to baffle, throw in some poly batting
and gorilla glue and screw baffle to boxes.
They are now in my basement hovel being fed a steady diet of vinyl to break them in and I can't turn my ASL AV-8's above 11 o clock!
