1) where do you screw in the 2x2 and what orientation and how many? Should I wedge in a 1" dowel behind the horn between the two sides?

2) what is a compensation network... Do you mean a digital x-over where the speakers are bi-amped? Or do you just mean getting a new x-over with EQ?
