Screw some 2x2s to the inside walls

Put non-harening modeling clay in hollows of the "lips", the part of the horn that extends past the mounting flange

Don't worry about it, leave them where they are unless you plan working on them.

No

No
"6) should I leave the cardboard ports as they are or remove them or stuff them?"
Leave them alone.
The best thing you can do to improve your speakers is to use compensation networks to extend the high frequencies.
