I think the most we can hope for for the bulk of recordings is a DSD mastered standard audio CD. Artist that care about the sound of their work will chose DSD--but selling SACDs just is not practical, except for classical and maybe jazz. Imports will be there, but in nowhere near the selection a serious music listener would require. DSD mastered audio cds sound better than anything I have heard for cd...and observing the fact that analog master tapes sound superior to vinyl makes settling for a CD version of a DSD master recording a little more tolerable. Just my thoughts for the moment...
