Shopping for a new SACD player....

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a new (or second hand SACD player and I could sure use some advice. My current machine is a Sony SCD-XB770 which I picked up purely because it was extremely cheap. It gives me nothing over and above redbook and I'd quite like to find out if these SACDs I've got strewn around the house has actually got something more to offer.

I'm not in the market for anything very expensive, say around $1000 or so. I'm Euro based, so prices will differ (read: we get shafted on most things), but it gives you a ballpark to play in. The players I have in mind at this time are:

Marantz SA8400 (Second hand obviously)
Marantz SA17 (Ditto. Not keen on the fact that it's multi channel though).
Marantz SA7001 KI (Kenji usually does a great job I think)
Sony SCD-XA3000ES (Again multi channel, but...)
Sony XA777ES (Great rep, but too pricey second hand because of it)
Denon 1500AE (The new entry level 2-ch player)

And that's it basically. Either of those I can get hold of fairly easily, so opinions on them would be extremely helpful. Redbook will be via my trusty DAC, which I have yet to hear bettered by anything, so that doesn't really enter into it at all.

I'd be most grateful for any opinions offered.
