There are many reasons why SACD/DVD-A are not popular in the market apart from price consideration. How many true DVD-A players are available in the market? Most are just compatible players which can decode the lower resolution track only, and the high rez track can only transfer by analog in others, but not many ampplifier are equipped with so many multi-channel audio input in general household.
The lack of continuous superstar releases in pop genre is another.
