I will probably keep my Sony 9000ES DVD-SACD player for as long as it keeps running. However, I've haven't bought a non-hybid SA-CD in years--just in case.
If someone builds a decent HD / SACD player, I'll probably buy it. Instantly, I'll become the fan of that format (HD-DVD or Blu-Ray)
I bought a 32" HDTV for the bedroom to get my feet wet. Christmas present for my wife. At least, that's what I told her. By the way, I love the DVR that comes with my cable subscription.
I know what I want for my main HDTV, but I'll need to wait a year or two. I want a 50" LCD with 1080p capability, 1920 x 1080 resolution, 6 ms response time, and at least two HDMI inputs. Almost all HDTVs sold today cannot display full HD resolution (1080 lines). Most do 720 or 766 lines.
Hopefully, by then, there'll be an HD player that also plays SA-CD. Also, by then, I'll figure out how to get the high resolution lossless audio into my Sunfire pre/pro.
By the way, Netflix announced that they will carry HD DVDs. Blockbuster and Hollywood will need to keep pace.
