New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

thx allen

I simply used the term "swenson mod" since he published an online guide to a similar mod of the Toshiba 3950. There is another guide on audiocircle for modding the similar Toshiba 4960. People have called it that in numerous threads here and at audiocircle.

At this point, I think I'll give up on the balanced output and simply pursue adding RCA unbalanced output.

Allen, I understand your company will be doing this as a part of your upgrades and you may not be willing to discuss this sort of DIY mod with everyone. I value your opinion and I hope you will contribute to the DIY community and share your insight. I think it could be a simple DIY mod that goes something like this.

1. disassemble unit and remove main board.
2. locate the 2 channel path capacitors and remove them.
3. add RCA jacks of your choice to the case.
4. run wire from the old capacitor connections to the RCA jacks with coupling capacitors of your needs/choosing.

That being said, I'm not an expect and I'm more dangerous with a soldering iron than proficient but I enjoy the satisfaction of DIY projects.
