Re: Living Stereo vs. Living Presence

Are my ears way off or is it true that MLP LP's can often sound very dry and RCA LS ones sound much more lush and have more hall ambience?
In general, one cannot just buy all of them, and I suggest buying on music you want to hear/explore.

I cite Schumann 3rd symphony, Minn/Dorati, Strauss waltzes same artists. However, the Fennell golden imports and regular early 90's rbcd sound good, as does Gershwin Fennell/studio band from NY and its Golden Imports counterpart. A Paray French overtures LP even on Golden Imports is fantastic, however--almost perfect.

In somewhat of a contrastt, RCA LP's which I didn't like in the past but now played on modern & better equipment, the LP's and SACD's sound incredibly rich and full with hall ambience, impact and so on. I have been slowly acquiring copies of the LP's but judiciously getting the hybrid. As someone posted, there were 8 or 9 titles at my local Costco for under $8 pre tax.
